Fantasy Art Unlimited
Full Details of the Course Below:The Fantasy Art Unlimited course will be amazingly in its eighteenth year, this coming September, under the tutelage of Tim Perkins. The highly successful course has grown in size over the years and caters for local and out of town students. Students come from far and wide on a weekly basis. Some are quite local, some have to travel to the town from nearby towns and cities. One student actually flies from Malta, specially to attend. The cost of the course is presently £123.00. The cost of the course is dependent on the amount of students attending and can fluctuate due to this. The more students, the cheaper the cost, as there is a central pot of money enabling the course to be run. Due to the popularity of the course the 30-week courses now rotate with a new course commencing straight after each previous 30-week course finishes with perhaps a break of only a couple of weeks between. Following this - the next series of 30 x sessions will then commence from approximately Wednesday - 6th July - 2022 There are a few limited places left for anyone wishing to join the course. **Simply send an email to fau@wizards-keep.com and then arrange to come along on any Wednesday evening from 6:00pm until 9:00pm, for a FREE Taster Session to see what all the fuss is about! Techniques taught using different Mediums:
The course is geared up to suit each individual student. One student may wish to do comic book styled work whilst someone else wishes to work with storyboarding, and so on. All students learn the same techniques but each employs these techniques with their own subject matter. Tim's experience in the art fields and in education enables his students to draw from a wealth of information, whether it is used for purely leisure or potentially commercial purposes. During the course other professional illustrators, designers and writers from the worlds of Comics, Books, Film and TV are invited along to act as guest speakers. The students are then able to watch as each creator works on an original piece of artwork, thus enabling them to see how different people all work in individual ways to achieve similar goals. The course is not just about learning to draw and paint, etc, it is also a valuable resource for learning how the industries work and what it entails when looking for a career in the arts fields. The students' work has been exhibited at Blackburn Museum, at the end of the course on many occassions. In 2008 the students produced their first magazine entitled Hybrid XIII. In 2009 the students produced their second magazine entitled Hybrid XIV. In 2014 the students worked on a new Project tentatively entitled - Hybrid14. The students are currently about to start work on a new Comic Project written by one of the students. The students each receive an induction pack consisting of resource lists of recommended artists, reference books, how-to books and websites where they can purchase the books from, etc. The students have a private FAU Facebook Forum through which up-to-date information from the tutor, homeworks, information sheets, pictures, photos, files and much more are shared - with each student having the facility to upload their own images to their individual folders. There are ongoing demonstrations, by Tim, throughout the course. E.G. how to "Loosen up" and "scribble" to sketch quickly and accurately. Students are introduced to blueline pencilling techniques. The emphasis on the course is having lots of FUN!!! For further details email Tim Perkins at: |
